Abstract
Muslim personality is one of important factors in human life. Personality describes someone behavior, character and personality that is able to be seen in one behavior and attitude. Mardhatillah orphanage is a place to overcome social obstacles especially on education. In that place, children receive formal education in school and informal education in the social home such as reading Quran, sharing knowledge, learning iqro’, extracurricular, and etc. They are teenager who study in high school in Surakarta. Mardhatillah orphanage prioritizes the importance of character building that is the reflection of Muslim personality itself. In building and forming that personality, it is supported by the existence of Islamic activities and the support of attention from the caretaker. The formulation of problem statement in this research was how to build Muslim personality in young woman at Mardahtillah orphanage and what kinds of supporting and inhibiting factors in building Muslim personality for young woman at Mardhatillah orphanage. Therefore, this research aimed to describe how to build Muslim personality and supporting and inhibiting factors in building Muslim personality. The method of the research was qualitative research. The data collection methods were observation, interview and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis used identification, relating theory and answering the research question. Based on data analysis from the research result, it can be concluded that the way to build Muslim personality for young woman were 1) gathering together with the caretaker 2) order or rule, 3) routine / extracurricular activity, 4) religious activity, 5) good environment. The supporting factors divided into 2 which were internal factors 1) coaching from the caretaker 2) from young woman itself. Then the external supporting factors were 1) religious education in school 2) social environment. While the internal inhibiting factor was the activity outside the home. The inhibitor from the external was the influence of gadgets and peers
