Abstract
Land in Beluk Village, Bayat Sub-district, Klaten Regency is a unstable land where in the dry season the soil becomes cracked due to shrinkage and in the rainy season the soil becomes sticky and strong support low so there needs to be strong improvement of soil support by means of stabilization. Based on previous research Mehikawati (2010) original land in Beluk Village, Bayat District, Klaten Regency original soil research obtained w = 87,5%, Gs = 2,625%, LL = 77,25%, PL = 50,00%, PI = 27.25% and SL = 16.026%. The soil improvement is carried out by stabilization using tras and lime with variations of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10%, and 5% lime on the weight of soil samples aimed at improving the physical properties and soil mechanical properties the. The tests include physical properties test and mechanical properties of original soil and mixed soil. Based on the result of the original soil physical properties test obtained w = 9,71%, Gs = 2,73, LL = 64,00%, PL = 24,13%, PI = 39,87% and SL = 30,28%. The original soil classifications according to the AASHTO system include groups A-7-6 and according to the USCS system including CH groups. The result of soil physical characteristic test showed that water content, specific gravity, liquid limit, shrinkage limit and plastic index decreased while the plastic limit increased. The classification of trashed soil mixtures of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 5% lime according to the AASHTO system belongs to group A-7-6 and according to USCS system including CH group while at 10% and 5% the AASHTO system belongs to the A-7-5 group and according to the USCS system also belongs to the CH group. The result of test of mechanical properties from Standard Proctor test of mixed soil mixture of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7,5% and 10% and lime 5% to weight of soil sample have increased weight value of maximum dry volume and decreasing of optimum water content. The maximum dry weight volume value is 1.45 gr / cm3 and the lowest optimum water content value is 18.00% in the addition of 10% tras and 5% lime. The CBR Soaked value increased from the original soil by 1% to 7% in the addition of 10% tras and 5% lime. The value of development has decreased from the original soil by 1.75% to 1.19% in the addition of 10% tras and 5% lime
