Abstract

This study aims to describe 1.The role of school principals in the development of teaching skills of teachers, 2.The role of principals in improving the skills of teachers using learning media, and 3.The role of school principals in improving the skills of teachers to hold variations. This type of research is qualitative research with phenomenology design. Techniques of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation. Interactive data analysis techniques. Data validity using triangulation. The results of this study are: 1.The role of principals in developing teachers' teaching skills in SDN Bedoro 2 Sragen, including: a.As an educator consists of developing curriculum, teaching and learning activities, and teacher teaching skills, b.As manager, managing educational staff, c.As an administrator consists of planning activities and organizing the organization, d.As supervisor consists of evaluating and supervising, 2.The role of principals in improving the skills of teachers using instructional media, including: a.Using audio media, b.Using visual media, c.Using audiovisual media, 3.The role of the head of a school in improving the skills of teachers variation, including: a.Variations in teaching style consist of the use of variation of voice, contact of view and motion, b.Variations in the use of instructional media consist of tangible media, audible, viewable and palpable media, c.Variations in interaction patterns and student activities consist of teacher-dominated activities and self-employed activities performed by students.
