Abstract
Today it is often encountered a building that has been completed then a change occurred function of the finished building. The problem that arises is that the existing structure is not able to withstand a larger load. In this study selected mild steel used for the addition of reinforced reinforcement. Mild steel is a high quality steel that has light and thin properties, but has a function equivalent to conventional steel. This study aims to find out how big the addition of reinforced reinforced reinforced beam reinforced steel lightweight under the beam. Tests conducted include: concrete compressive strength test and bending test of reinforced concrete beams. The result of this research is the addition of mild steel to reinforced concrete beam able to withstand the burden of reaching the initial crack 41,38% bigger the normal reinforced concrete beam, the addition of mild steel as bottom layer of reinforced concrete beam able to withstand the ultimate burden 46,87% Normal reinforced concrete beams and the addition of mild steel as a bottom layer of cracked reinforced concrete beams able to withstand the ultimate load 31.24% greater than normal reinforced concrete beams.
