Abstract

Pattaya region has high potential of beach tourism. Nevertheless, there are several tourist attractions such as the beach, Khao Pattaya, Wong Amat Beach, Naklua Beach, Jomtien Beach and not yet developed. The purpose of this study was (1) to analyze the potential for coastal attractions of Khao Pattaya Beach Wong Amat Beach Naklua and Jomtien Beach in the area of research, and (2) create a development strategy attractions beach Khao Pattaya Beach Wong Amat Beach Naklua, and Jomtien Beach. The method used in this research is survey method with quosioner. The results obtained from this study were (1) attractions which have the combined potential is high, which is attached to attraction Jomtien Beach. Meanwhile attractions with combined potential levels were found in the attraction Khao Pattaya, and potential tourist attraction located in the lower combined attraction Wong Amat Beach and Naklua Beach. Nevertheless, according to the potential of internal, external, and potential supporters, attractions in Pattaya has the potential varied ranging from low to high, (2) strategy of tourism development in the area of Pattaya is planned as follows: (a) improving the quality of an object by using the natural resources that exist with regard to aspects of environmental sustainability, (b) increase efforts to promote tourism in Region Pattaya by working with the private sector and relevant agencies, so that the marketing of existing tourism will be more unified and focused, (c) an increase in intensity attractive tourist event so that more tourists are interested in visiting, and (d) the establishment of zoning in order to intensify the development of tourist destinations in the tourism sector which will ultimately increase the number of tourist visits.
