Abstract

Patients with cancer in Indonesia in 2015 as much as 1.4% or about 347,792 people. In Indonesia alone there are 11,000 cases of childhood cancer each year. The results of medical records at Dr.Moewardi Hospital obtained by researchers on September 15, 2016 obtained results in 2012 there are 151 children aged 4-14 years, while in 2013 increased 355 children and in 2016, obtained the number of patients with leukemia in Dr. Moewardi 50 children with leukemia. The purpose of this research is to know the description of personal hygiene of children with leukemia in dr.Moewardi regional general hospital This research is descriptive analytic research Population in this research is patient of children suffering from leukemia and treated at Local Public Hospital of Moewardi Surakata jasmine ward, number of child patient suffering leukemia counted 30 child. Sampling technique accidental sampling, sample size 30 respondents. Measuring tool with questionnaire. Analysis of data with univariate. The results of this study were the majority of children suffering from leukemia at the Moewardi Surakarta Regional General Hospital experienced personal hygiene problems such as tooth brushing, bathing, shampooing and genitalia and parineal hygiene issues. Based on the results of research is expected ressponden family more concerned with the needs of personal hygiene in children premises leukemia and pay special attention to it Keywords: personal hygiene, children with leukemia
