Abstract

CV. Tiga Berlian Jaya is a semi manufacturing company that role in furniture making. Planning of material requirements are very influential on the course of production. Problems that exist in this study related to raw material inventory, where there is delay in delivery of raw materials. Therefore it is needed an information system which is expected to fulfill requirement of raw material can be done correctly and costing on inventory can be planned optimally that is by applying Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Method, this method aim to plan one of requirement of material items Standard by determining the time of ordering and selection of effective lot sizing to know the ratio of total inventory cost. MRP method is used by using two different lot sizing methods that are Lot for lot and Part Period Balancing to get the minimum cost of raw material inventory which consist of ordering cost, holding cost and raw material purchase. The results of this study indicate that the method Single Exponential Smoothing is a forecasting method that has the smallest error rate that is 0, Planning needs of raw materials are made based on the results of the demand for product demand of chairs show the most effective technique of lot sizing is lot for lot Techniques lot for lot generate cost The lowest inventory of Rp 2.921.500,00. compared with the technique part period balancing which yields the cost of Rp 3.066.280,00 and the method used by the company is Rp 6.534.000,00.
