Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the correlation between the perception of transformational leadership and the employee engagement. Data was taken from the 94 respondents of Hotel X Solo with a technique proportional sampling. This research i s conducted by using quantitative method. The instrument for data collection used in this research is scale of the transformational leadership perception and the employee engagement. The technique of data analysis applied in this research is the correlation of Nonparametric Kendall’s . Based on the data analysis resulted the correlation coefficient ( r ) is 0,516; significance level (p) = 0,0 00 (p < 0,01 ). This indicates a dominant lin ear relationship of the both variables as well as an approval of the hypothesis that there is a significant positive relationship between the transformational leadership perception and the employee engagement of the Hotel X Solo employees . The contributi on of the transformational leadership perception toward the employee engagement of the Hotel X Solo employees is 26,6 % . The study shows the subjects of the Employee engagement and the transformational leadership perception are in the high category.
