Abstract
F2 Seeds were derivatives of original F1 seeds that grown on the special medium that containing cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignin. Generally, it used rice husks and Sengon wood-flakes. Coffee grounds and cardboard contain (cellulose, hemicelluloses, and lignin) which can be used as an innovation of F2 nursery and growth of mycelium oyster mushroom and straw mushroom. The purpose of this study was to know the growth of mycelium F2 seeds of oyster mushroom and straw mushroom by using medium of coffee grounds and cardboard. The medium of cardboard was the most optimal one in the growth of mycelium. This research used the experimental method by using completely random design (CRD) factorial pattern that was implemented in two repetitions. Factor 1, coffee grounds on oyster mushroom (M2J1) and straw mushroom (M2J1). Factor 2, cardboard on oyster mushroom (M2J1) and straw mushroom (M2J2). The parameters measured were the length of mycelium, the spread of mycelium, and the mycelium’s thickness of the oyster mushroom and straw mushroom. The technique of analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results obtained on the growth of the highest mycelium F2 seeds of oyster mushroom and the highest mushroom on the cardboard medium was 5 cm/day, the dispersion of mycelium was closely, the thicknesses was thick. The nutrient content affecting mycelium growth while growth of F2 seeds of oyster mushroom and straw mushroom lowest in coffee grounds medium that was 2.5 cm/day, the dispersion of mycelium was denser and the thickness grew thinner.
