Abstract

This study aims to understand and describe the marital satisfaction of husbands/wifes with long distance relationship. The method used in this research is qualitative method with phenomenology design. Data collection using semi-structured interview technique as the main technique and open questionnaire as support.Informants in this study are 5 husbands and 5 wives who undergo long distance relationship with their partner, and had been married for at least 2 years, the informant was selected by purposive sampling. For questionnaires, distributed to 80 respondents who are married couples with a minimum age of 2 years. The results showed that the satisfaction of marriage in couples who undergo long-distance relationship is on aspects of communication, personality match, conflict resolution, family and friends, financial management and spiritual conditions. But less feel satisfaction on aspects of flexibility, closeness, and leisure activities. In marriage satisfaction there are also factors that influence marital satisfaction in couples who undergo long distance relationship interpersonal relationship of husband and wife, child attendance, and sexual relationship of married couple, length of introduction with spouse, finance, and ability to face conflict.
