Abstract
This study aims to find out, 1) the need of video media for learning, 2) the effectiveness of the development of volcanic material video volcano media at the extracurricular School of Disaster Preparedness in SMP Negeri 1 Wedi. This research is a research and development (R & D) using Borg and Gall development model design. The processing of video learning media using ResponsiveVoice.JS software, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects, VideoScribe and Adobe Premiere, obtained the final product of learning video. The research design used one group pretest-postest design. Video product development through material and media expert validation stage shows an average value of 4.38. The final assessment of video products by respondents shows a value of 4.67 and included in the category "GOOD". Data analysis technique in this research use T test (t-test). The difference of learners' understanding of the volcanic eruption material on prates and pascates has increased by an average of 22.6. The average value of 67.2 prats increased in pascates 89.8 after using the video product. T test results (t-test). Data prates and pascates showed significant values 0.000 <0.05 so H 0 rejected and H accepted so that the use of learning media volup eruption volcano material on extracurricular School Disaster Preparedness in SMP Negeri 1 Wedi effective.
