Abstract

Increasing the number of people will be followed by the need for land to be used can be land for residence or other purposes. Uncontrolled land use will affect the surrounding environment. Land use in a watershed area will greatly affect the environment and functions of the watershed itself. The need for assessment of the potential or ability of land in the watershed which can be used as a reference in managing the land. Land use can be directed based on the potential and ability of land so that productivity increases, land conditions are not damaged and the risk of disaster is reduced. This study used survey and sampling method with stratified random sampling. Strata used based on land units. Secondary data used in this research are land characteristic data, landform map, land map, land use map. Field observations and interviews were conducted to assess land use for data validation used to determine land use directives. The result of the research shows that the unit of land capability in Jono watershed, there are 5 classes, namely class IIIw, IVg, VIs, VIIIg and VIIIw. Land suitable for agriculture in Jono watershed is found in land class IIIw with land use that is intensive agriculture in the form of rainfed lowland, and class IVg land with the use of land in the form of rainfed agriculture, and mixed garden with processing on sloped land by way of patio bench And require soil cultivation to support productivity, for land use on land with land class VIs of land directed to limited production forests or allowed for natural, for VIIIw and class VIIIg not intended for agriculture or cultivation crops, land use is very limited only to nature reserves or left to Natural. From the total area of DAS Jono 523 Ha of land with appropriate use has an area of 184 Ha and land that is not in accordance with the ability lahanya has an area of 329 Ha Keywords : Landuse, Land Capability and Direction of Landuse
