Abstract

A Crime is a form of action that can be done by anyone. Crime has a devastating effect on life in society. One of the crimes discussed in this thesis is the criminal act of motorcycle torture.based on the foregoing, the authors raised the formulation of the problems : (1) How the police effort in tackling the criminal act of motorcycle torture? , (2) How the result of the surakarta polresta effort in tackling the criminal act of motorcycle torture in jurisdiction of surakarta, (3) What constraints faced by the police in tackling the criminal act of motorcycle torture? The Method used by the authors in this study using the method of empirical juridical approach, this study was conducted in Surakarta POLRESTA The result of research obtained in this thesisis that in its effort to overcome the criminal acts of torture the police has two ways, namely through preventif and repressive efforts, which includes: conducting integrated security with the community to prevent the occurance of criminal acts in society, the police also carry out routine traffic raids and also the police do a blocking letters in samsat relatd to the report of the community about the existence of a loss event. From the effort, the result is a decrease of criminal act of motorcycle torture.
