Abstract

This study aims to determine the criminal punishment process in Magetan District Court Law, the effectiveness of criminal punishment prepetators for gambling crime in Magetan District Court, Criminal proceedings against the perpetrators of gambling crimes in Magetan District Court and Efforts made in tackling the criminal act of gambling in Magetan District Court. The research method used juridical empirical by descriptive research analysis. Source of data consist of primary, it is result of interview and the secondary data is data from the primary, secondary and tertiary law. Methods of data collection by literature study and interview then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the investigation in the criminal proceedings, began with the investigation and inqures of the Magetan Police, prosecution by the Public Prosecutor, the trial inquiry by the Judge and the execution of the verdict (execution) by the Prosecutor. The effectiveness of punishment was seen from the settlement process and the application of criminal sanctions. Efforts in tackling gambling start from legal counseling, appeal to the public, and a unified law enforcement attitude explicitly in combating gambling.
