Abstract
The role of teachers of Islamic religious education is needed to be able to grow the spiritual intelligence on their students. In addition to having intellectual intelligence, students are expected to have a spiritual intelligence, with this learner able to build themselves into a whole person with always positive thinking in addressing every event that experienced and always berprinsip to Allah SWT. SMP Negeri 1 Mojosongo is a school that prioritizes Islamic education in the implementation of learning. Various religious activities have been undertaken, but lacked good response from students. For that researchers will discuss the role of Islamic religious education teachers in improving the spiritual intelligence of students in SMP Negeri 1 Mojosongo. Problems in this study include: (1) How is the implementation of Islamic Religious Education? (2) How is the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers so far in improving spiritual intelligence? (3) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors of the role of Islamic religious education teachers in improving students' spiritual intelligence ?. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of Islamic religious education, the role of Islamic religious education teachers in improving the spiritual intelligence of students in SMP Negeri 1 Mojosongo and the factors prndukun and penyambatnya. The research method used is field research, with phenomenology approach. Research subjects were students, teachers of Islamic religious education and principals. Methods of collecting interview data, observation and documentation. The results of this study is the implementation of learning in SMP Negeri 1 Mojosongo has been running well, teachers play a very important role in improving students 'intelligence, the school is also very helpful Islamic religious education teachers in improving students' spiritual intelligence. Religious activities held by Islamic religious teachers and schools include: habituation of asmaulhusna, sholat berjamaah, spiritual jumat and other. Factors that support the implementation of the improvement of students' spiritual intelligence are all citizens of the school as providing support and participation in various aspects of religious activities that exist in school. For the inhibiting factors of improving students' spiritual intelligence is the delinquency that exists in school children, besides the role of parents has not been maximized.
