Abstract

Based on the results of soil chemistry tests conducted in the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry MIPA UGM Yogyakarta, Sukodono land has chemical element of soil Al2O3 = 16,86%, CaO = 0,92%, Fe2O3 = 10,81%, MgO = 1,35% , And SiO2 = 63.25%. The result of preliminary study shows that the soil in Sukodono, Sragen is high plastic inorganic clay, with LL value = 85,73%, PL = 24,69%, PI = 61,04%. With PI value = 61,04% (more From 17%) then Sukodono land, Sragen needs land improvement by chemical soil stabilization using salt (NaCl) with percentage of NaCl 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% from sample weight. Tests conducted in the form of test the physical properties and mechanical properties of the original soil and mixed soil. Physical properties of soil and mixed soil were found to be water content, plastic limit, shrinkage limit increased while specific gravity, liquid limit, plastic index and percent pass filter No.200 decreased. Classification according to the soil USCS system with a mixture of NaCl 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% t including CH and mixed NaCl 20% and 25% including MH group. Classification according to the AASHTO system of soil with a mixture of 0% NaCl and 5% including groups A-7-6 and 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% NaCl mixes including groups A-7-5. Result of test of mechanical properties from standard test Proctor soil mixture of NaCl 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% increased volume weight value and decreasing of optimum water content. The maximum weight value of the volume is 1.45 gr / cm3 and the lowest optimum moisture content is 23% in the addition of NaCl 20%. The greatest frictional stress value is found on the original soil with the value of 0.212 kg / cm2 while at the lowest frictional value is found in mixed soil with Addition of 20% NaCl of 0.159 kg / cm2.
