Abstract
Background: In elderly women in Panti Wredha Dharma Bakti Surakarta, out of 49 elderly women 40 of them have poor flexibility of -10 to -20cm in flexibility. Some of them also complained of low back pain, and has limitatiions and unimmunity in the activity. Some factors that affect the unbalanced weight, gender and age. Gymnastics is highly recommended for the elderly, in addition to maintaining fitness is also expected to maintain and increase flexibility of the elderly. Type of gymnastics recommended for the elderly is low impact aerobic gymnastics, duration 30 minutes, frequency three times per week for 4 weeks. Objective: To determine the effect of low impact aerobic exercise on lumbar flexibility in elderly woman in Panti Wredha Dharma Bhakti Surakarta. Benefits of Research: Can know the effect of low impact aerobic exercise on lumbar flexibility in elderly women in Panti Wredha Dhara bhakti Surakarta. Research Method: The research type is qualitative research, using quasi experimental method and design two groups pre and post test design with control group design with 25 samples. Measurements using modified fitenessgram, with sit-and-reach position then hands extend as much as possible to touch the big toe, measured the distance of the foot with the fingers. Test uses Shapiro wilk for normality, sedag test influence using Mann withney. Result of Research: Based on Mann Withney test result known that p-value 0.000 <0,005 then Hₒ is rejected and Hα accepted. So it can be interpreted that there is influence on this research. Conclusion: There is influence of low impact aerobic exercise on lumbar flexibility in lasia woman in Panti Wredha Dharma Bhakti Surakarta.
