Abstract

Electricity can't be separated from humans. Dependence on electricity almost covers every human needs. The Power plant construction is needed to meet the demand for electrical energy. Generators are an important part of generating systems. The purpose of this study is to design a permanent magnet generator with three phase axial flux type. Rotor and stator design considering into account a number of permanent magnets and a number of turn winding. The output of generator is connected to the transformer, so the output voltage is same or near to PLN’s rating. This research have two types of test, its on-load test and unloaded testing. Unloaded test with variation speed of generator from 50 to 450 RPM. If generator rotary speed was increase three times, so output generator will increase three times too. Output of line to line voltage on high voltage side transformer is 29.7 volt at 50 RPM and 308 volt at 450 RPM. On load test use LED lamp power variation and incandescent lamp power variation. Increasing power of lamps will decrease the voltage and increase the current. LED lamp variation from 2 watt per phasa to 9 watt per phasa and incandescent lamp variation from 10 watt per phase to 40 watt per phase. The smallest voltage values and the largest current are shown on 9 watt LED lamp and 40 watt incandescent lamp. Led lamp showing 165 volt line to line and 0.0348 amperes on high voltage transformer. Incandescent lamp showing 9.5 volt line to line and 0.0296 amperes on high voltage transformer.
