Abstract

Workload is an external factor of work fatigue, the burden is borne by the worker in doing a job. Waste officers experience fatigue based on the weight of the load and the distance of the garbage haulage area. The purpose of this research is to know the relation of work load with work fatigue to garbage officer in Surakarta Municipality. This research uses observational analytics method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study amounted to 30, the research sample is the total population of 30 people. Measurement of workload by counting the pulse using stopwatch and fatigue measurement using subjective subjective fatigue questionnaire. The result of research work load as much as 53,3% including light work load, 40,0% medium work load, and 6,7% workload rather heavy. While the job fatigue distribution includes 50.0% mild exhaustion and 50.0% moderate work fatigue. Data analysis using pearson product moment test known sig value p = 0,008 (p = <0,05) and value r = 0,476 meaning there is relation. From the research results can be concluded there is a relationship between workload with significant work fatigue with the strength of the relationship is. It is recommended to agencies to redesign trash carts with rope and sponge pads on garbage carts to lighten the load of garbage officers.
