Abstract

Romantic relationship is someone relation not only closer each others but also sexually related and can be shown in the form of small things like kissing and making out. Romantic form that existed in Western countries i.e. love, togetherness, mutual respect, mutual care, holding each others, hungging and kissing in public space, different with Eastern countries that showing the intimate behavior in public space is still rare. This research aims to find out how the form of romanticism on elderly couples and its benefits. This research aims to find out how the form of romanticism on elderly couples and its benefits. Informant of this research are six elderly aged 60 to 75 years because that age still have a couple of blissful, intimate behavior can be seen from togetherness each other, holding hands and showing the expression of excited and informant living in Solo, Central Java. The method which used in this research is qualitative research’s method with descriptive narrative strategies. The methode of data collection which used in this research is a semi structured interview against six people and observation for two days. The result of this study was found five forms of romanticism on the elderly couples such as intimate behavior, togetherness, having mutual attention, established communication and commitment. Besides the romantic forms can be divided into three points including social (togetherness and communication), psychology (attention and commitment) and physical (intimate behavior). Further benefits of the romantic form of the subjects will get good feeling, grateful, more harmonious and more enjoy
