Abstract

Biology Education Studies Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, August 2017 Growth is the process of increasing the volume and number of cells so that the size of the living organism is growing larger. Growth is irreversible and can be measured. To increase plant growth fertilization needs to be done. Good fertilization should use organic waste materials. Easy to find organic waste material is waste pulp tea and waste bone catfish. As liquid organic fertilizer (POC) waste pulp tea contains crude protein, crude fat, coarse fiber, dry matter, water and ash. Waste bone catfish contains calcium 17,47%, protein, carbohydrate, fat, and water. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer made from waste pulp tea and waste bone catfish to the growth of lettuce plants. This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with two factors. The first factor was the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (D1 = 7 ml, D2 = 10 ml, D3 = 13 ml), second factor of fertilization interval (W1 = 3 days, W2 = 5 days) with two replications. The data was analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The best lettuce plant height is D2W1 treatment with average height 9,25 cm, best wet weight at D3W1 treatment with average wet weight 2,80 g. Conclusion of this research is there is influence of the interaction and interval fertilization of the plant growth lettuce.
