Abstract
Chatting applications or instant messaging is one of communication media between one another that is currently used by the general public, this case makes the software company especially chatting application compete in improving the quality of applications that owned, although this is done is still despite from the responses of the user, the responses are positive responses, negative responses and neutral responses which has provided the opportunity to sentiment analyze that can be used for the making decision process. So in this research will using sentiment analysis to compare the user satisfaction toward chatting application, among others: Line, Whatsapp, and BBM using lexicon based method. The Data that be used is a collection of comments from users on each application, each amount of data as much as 300 comment. The result of this study show that user satisfaction is more likely on the use of Whatsaap applications with the acquisition 162 possitive sentiments, and 128 negative sentiments from 300 opinion data. Test of precisions, recall and accuracy, show nearly value between Lexicon Based method which use average and first sense method, however as overall system working result from both of them are equal balance.
