Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis Genu is inflammation and degeneration of the bones that form the knee joint (osteo = bone, arthro = joints, itis = inflammation). In such cases it can be overcome with physiotherapy modalities. Physiotherapy in this case can reduce pain, increase joint scope, and increase muscle strength using infrared modalities, Transcutaneus Electrical Nerve Stimulation, and Therapeutic Exercise. Results: After doing therapy for 6 times got result of decrease of pain, in the form of silent pain at T0 result 1 that is pain not felt on T6 result 1 that is pain not felt, Tenderness on T0 result 4 that is pain not so heavy at T6 result 2 that is very mild pain , And motion pain on T0 result 6 that is severe pain in T6 result 4 that is pain not so heavy, increase of range of motion The description of table above got result of increase of range of motion, got result of Scope Motion Joint active motion genu sinistra T0 result S = 00 – 00 - 1150 at T6 S = 00 – 00 - 1200 results, and motion scope of the passive motion joint on the left genus T0 S = 00 – 00 - 1200 results in T6 S = S = 00 – 00 - 1250, increased muscle strength obtained by muscle group Flexor on T0 result 4- at T6 result 4, and extensor on T0 result 4 in T6 result 4+. Conclusion: Infrared and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation can reduce pain, otherwise Therapeutic Exercise can increase muscle strength and increase the scope of motion of the joints.
