Abstract

Arabic as one of the languages of the world has many features and characteristics that distinguish it from other languages. No one doubts the contribution of Arabic to the development of Islamic science, especially in understanding the contents of the Qur'an, Hadith and Arabic books. Learning Arabic is a mandatory requirement to master the content of the Koran, not just the Qur'an even to understand the hadith and the books of the scholars need Arabic language skills. In studying Arabic not only using theory alone but the practice needs to be done especially for the first time to know the Arabic language, theory and practice should be mixed so that Arabic language can be understood. Based on the above problems of this study is mahasantri shabran cottage yag still lacking in the knowledge of Arabic seen from the difficulty mahasantri understand Arabic especially in terms of reading the book. This study aims to determine the efforts of cottage improvement in the ability of Arabic mahasantri in Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran 2016/2017. This research is a type of qualitative research using descriptive approach. Data obtained from the observation of documents shabran hut and interviews with Director, Pembina, and Lecturer shabran cottage. This study uses analytic data descriptive analysis, ie data obtained (in the form of words, pictures, behavior) is not poured in the form of numbers or statistics, but still in the form of qualitative meaning of richer than just numbers or frequency. The results of this study indicate that in an effort to improve the ability of Arabic maharatri shabran cottage using a lecture system or classical. Arabic materials are taught from the basic, middle, and upper level. The material such as Mufradatul Quran, Sharaf, Nahwu, and Balaghotul Quran. In addition to using shabran cottage lecture system applying Tamyis learning method. The tamyis method is the method of learning Arabic with the singing model as well as intensifying the daily conversation by using Arabic to improve the ability of Arabic maharatri.
