Abstract
This research has two purposed, (1) identify the form of interference usage in Indonesian languange, (2) and describe the factors behind the interference in the text of the production of short story. Data collection techniques in this study using record techniques. The approach of this study was extralingual equivalent. The result of this research showed that the form of interference of XII class MIA 1 students was (1) the use of regional language, which is Javanese language, because the majority of students came from Central Java and also used Javanese language as daily speech language. (2) Foreign language is English and Arabic, due to students learn English as one of the subjects in SMA. The use of Arabic is due to learn Arabic in the application of Islamic subjects, and (3) Slang, this is happened because students have social environment so that they are accustomed to using slang as the language of their speech. While there were six factors behind the occurence of interference, which is (1) authors bilingualism, (2) interaction in a social environment around, (3) education level, (4) mastery of vocabulary, (5) the prestige of foreign language usage and style of language, and (6) language variety that implies the intrinsic element of the short story.
