Abstract

Branding image can give the characteristic peculiarities of the area. The management areas that already have a branding image necessarily requires the existence of a marketing communication in order to make the target of visits can be achieved to the maximum. The purpose of the resulting design is to be used as an effort in support of the vision of the city of Solo with the concept of Eco-Cultural City and spur economic growth so that can have three advantages at once both in terms of cultural, social and economical, and improve the image or identity with presence of Surakarta Urban Gallery in the city of Solo, deepening the material performed with, 1) study the literature, literature that used either the book or electronic media and theory related to the planning and design of standard Gallery , as well as related to the history of development, and the principle of the design of the architecture. 2) Observation Study, studying a similar case as input in the concept of Urban planning and Design Gallery in the city of Solo. 3) description, conduct and evaluate the data classification based on an earlier theory that it can produce a basic concept in Urban planning and Design Gallery in the city of Solo. Carrying the theme of the design by using the concept of contemporary architecture is certainly expected to become one object that supports the vision of the city of Solo for a long term program that is run in line with the branding and image of the city of Solo.
