Abstract
Concrete formed of a mixture of fine aggregate , coarse aggregate , cement , water. The quality of concrete good that is concrete that has a high compressive strength able to withstand heavy loads. But to get a good quality of concrete is influenced by many factors such as the quality of the basic ingredients of concrete manufacture, as well as the way of execution to make mixture concrete. This research was conducted to know the effect of silt content on fine aggregate on compressive strength and tensile strength of normal concrete at age 28 day with variation of silt content on fine aggregate 0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5% , 10%, while the silt content on the crude aggregate was 0,4%. The specimens used were cylindrical in diameter 15 cm height 30 cm, concrete quality planned 20 MPa. The results of the compressive strength test at the age of 28 days of compressive strength of concrete with silt content 0% = 31,52 MPa, 2,5% = 29,93 MPa, 5% = 27,52 MPa, 7,5% = 25,48 MPa, 10% = 22,19 MPa. While the average tensile strength of concrete slit with silt content 0% = 11,07 MPa, 2.5% = 9,75 MPa, 5% = 8,30 MPa, 7,5% = 7,17 MPa, 10% = 5,45 MPa. The results show that silt content affects the compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete, the less the silt content in the concrete feeding compressive strength and tensile strength is higher than the concrete that contains a lot of silt. So to get good concrete quality of high compressive strength, hence the basic material should fulfill the requirement according to the standard set one of the silt content percentage according to SK SNI S-04-1989-F silt content attached to the fine aggregate maximum 5%, maximal aggregate 1%.
