Abstract

Students give perceptions of teacher activity while teaching. Professional teachers able to manage the class well will easily create an effective learning environment, so that students will give a good response. This will encourage students' interest to be more active in the learning process. The problem of the research how are the influence of students' perceptions about the professionalism of teachers to interest in learning? Purpose of the study are determine and describe the influence of students' perceptions about the professionalism of teachers to interest in learning. This research includes the type of field research (field research) by testing the hypothesis. The research population is all students of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah Sukoharjo academic year 2016/2017 which amounted to 160 students. The sample of the study was 40 students, taken by random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation. Test of research instrument using validity and reliability test. Test the prerequisite analysis using the test of normality and linearity. Data analysis techniques use simple regression analysis. The results of this study concluded that students 'perceptions about the professionalism of teachers influence the students' interest in class XI SMK Muhammadiyah Sukoharjo academic year 2016/2017. This is evident from the results of hypothesis testing with t test obtained tcount> ttable at 5% significance level that is 7,609> 2.021 with p <0,05. This means that the better the perception of students about the professionalism of teachers, the higher the student's interest in learning. Conversely, the less perceptions of students about the professionalism of teachers, the lower the student's interest in learning.
