Abstract
Health promotion has two meanings, first as a preventive step and second as an effort to recognize and disseminate health information or health knowledge, with the aim transforming people's behavior living into a healthier behavior, and accordance with true health values. The existing form of communication on health promotion is persuasive communication. Each year, each district or city carries out a health promotion with a theme that fits the needs of each region. One of things that can inhibit the health promotion in a region is, people still believe myths about health, especially which related to supernatural or superstition. The aims of this study is to determine factors that may affects the success of health promotion or health campaign in Wonogiri. The methods of this study is descrptive qualitative with data collection through interview and documentation study. In general, the results of this study is there are three factors that influence behavior changes of society that can encourage the success of health promotion in Wonogiri. These three factors are religious maturity, social economic status (SES) and society characteristics.
