Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a long-term degenerative diseases that can lead to kidney, eye, nervous system complications and increased cardiovascular risk. That’s make medication diabetes mellitus requiring long treatment therapies and substantial amount of cost. This study aims to know general overview of treatment and cost effectiveness of oral antidiabetic therapy for in-patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and BPJS members at Sukoharjo Hospital in 2016. This study used observational method. Medical record of in-patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and members of BPJS at Sukoharjo Hospital 2016 was collected retrospectively. Purposive sampling method was used as sampling technique. There were 32 patients met inclusion criteria. The result shows oral antidiabetic used in Sukoharjo Hospital in 2016 was combination of metformin and glimepiride 31,25%, combination metformin, glimepiride and akarbose 21,87%, metformin 18,75%, metformin and akarbose 15,62%, combination metformin, glibenclamide and akarbose 6,25%, glimepiride and akarbose 3,12%, metformin and glibenclamide 3,12%. The most cost-effective oral antidiabetic according ACER and ICER values was found in class III using combination metformin and glibenclamide with ACER was Rp. 11.203,54 and ICER was Rp. 1.380,56.
