Abstract
Massive urbanization is still a problem in Indonesia. It is caused by several factors, one of which is the lack of public facilities in the villages. Besides the issue of the lack of some facilities, the problems in the village is also often associated with a lack of jobs. In efforts to prevent massive urbanization, it is necessary to rural development. Rural development is part of the socio-economic development as a whole. Rural development can be done by developing natural resources and human resources. Genengadal village also has other potential that can be developed through the development of SMEs in the village. Now there are some SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the village of Genengadal include: the manufacture of snack products (such as banana chips, soybean, cassava, corn, etc.), tofu, bread, manufacture bamboo baskets, etc. Village Community Genengadal especially the youths, many of which migrate to the outskirts. But they also still have the desire to be advanced in the village itself, one example is the Village Geneng youth associations, which form a creative community. Rural communities in general are characterized by their life and the environment respectively. Likewise with the village community Genengadal. The presence of new buildings in their environment must be identified and in accordance with social conditions. Thus the building is designed to be in accordance with social conditions Genengadal village to develop its potential in an effort to promote the village in particular and Grobogan in general. The building can also be a forum for people to organize learning activities and develop the local economy. The design process is carried out by analyzing the site, the space required, and the design approach local vernacular. Forms of vernacular used is Java traditional roof shape combined with material bricks without vinishing paint to create the impression of natural and ecological.
