Abstract
A teacher’s speech may affect the level of understanding of the learner. If the speech conveyed by the teacher is clear, then the students became familiar with the material presented. Speech acts used by teachers in teaching normal children in public schools it is certainly different from the speech acts used by theachers in teaching children with special needs in extraordinary schools. Requires expertise to teach children with special needs. Children with special needs are children who have deficiencies in themselves. This study has two purposes. (1) Describe the type of directive speech acts used by teachers in learning Indonesian language for children tunagrahita class X SLB Negeri 1 Pemalang. (2)Describe the type of expressive speech acts used by teachers in learning Indonesian for children tunagrahita class X SLB Negeri 1 Pemalang. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, recording, documentation and record. Data analysis techniques use extralingualpadan. Data were analysed using Prayitno’s directive speech act and expressive speech acts by Searle. There are two result of this study (1) 76 speeches that are included in the act of speech directive, (a) governing 36 speeches, (b) ask 12 speeches, (c) invites 3 speeches, (d) prohibit 17 speeches, (e) give advice 5 speeches, (f) criticize 3 speeches. (2) 13 speeches that are included in expressive speech acts, (a) give congratulations 2 speeches, (b) be thankful 1 speeches, (c) blame 4 speeches, (d) praised 2 speeches.
