Abstract
This research is a pragmatic study by focusing the act of speech directive as the study material. The theory of speech act directive serve as the basis for searching utterances that contain the intent of acting speech directive in the news discourse on the daily newspaper solopos. This study aims to find the forms of speech acts directive as well as stretegies directive speech acts that exist in the news discourse, and the latter implies the form of speech acts directive with Indonesia language learning in junior high. This research is a kind of qualiative research by using document analysis design and content that is written discourse document that exist in daily newspaper solopos. Data analysis in this research has been done since the process of data collection as well as for data validity techniques in this study using triangulation theory techniques. The form of the directive speech acts that the author has found in the discourse of the entire report amounts to 56 data containing the form of telling, expecting, asking, banning, demanding, and suggesting, and the most commonly found form is sending a total of 17 data. The directive speech acting strategy is classified into two direct and indirect strategies, and the most common strategy is the direct strategy, which is 47 data. The form of the directive speech act can be implicated in the Indonesian language learning on the text of the procedure contained in the 8th grade of Junior High School in Basic Competence 4.1 which reads “Capturing the meaning of the procedure story text”.
