Abstract
In the era of industrialization, many welding methods have widely used in metal, steel construction and machine structure. The use of welding technology in the structure and machine are due to simple manufacturing process and lighter compared to the bolt and riveted joint. Brazing is the process of joining metals by using filler which is melting in liquid phase. While the base metal used have a meting point above of the filler. The aims of the research are to investigate the tensile strength and hardness. The standards used for the preparation of the specimen is ASTM D 1002. The research results shows that the brazed joints between 2 mm thick of aluminum and 2 mm thick of galvanized steel has the highest stress of 53.373 N / mm2 strain 8.399%, and the maximum force of 3842.31 N. The hardness of galvanized steel as base metal was 91.9 HVN. The base metal of aluminum have 22.3 HVN. The highest hardness was on Galvanis of 118.5 HVN. This is supported by the analysis of micro photograph on a HAZ region show smaller microstructure than the base metal.
