Abstract

BACKGROUND. Total Hip Replacement (THR) or Total Hip Arthoplasty (THA) is a condition for replacing component of hip joint partially or wholly with artificial one. Components of its systems consist of femur and acetabulum system. The exercise therapy is used as physiotherapy modality. OBJECTIVES. This research proposed to know how manage physiotherapy within post operation of total hip replacement for reducing pain, improving joint motion, increasing the strength of muscle, decreasing the oedem, and increasing functional activity of hip sinistra. RESULT. There are some results have reached before therapy management for six times included (1) reduction for motionless, pressure, and motion pain, (2) improvement for motion scope of hip, knee, and ankle sinistra joints, (3) the strength of muscles that activate hip, knee, and ankle sinistra joints have been increased, (4) the oedem have been decrease, (5) functional activity improvement of hip sinistra based on Haris Hip Score. CONCLUSION. There are many changes but not significantly about physiotherapy management within post operation of total hip replacement for reducing pain, improving joint movement, increasing the strength of muscle, decreasing the oedem, and improving functional activity of hip sinistra.
