The modern times like this needs people want everything done quickly. Fast service makes time wasted can be utilized as best as possible. So is the battery charging is on the vehicle and electronic equipment used. Battery is a component that is capable of storing electrical energy that is quite old, so it has an important role. Most battery chargers available today have a long charging time and not be able to cut automatically, so risk of overcharge. Battery charging prices that include the breaker is still relatively expensive. This study aimed to design a battery charging system quickly and automatically cut off the flow. Testing methods which do was quickly in order to slow down the charging time duration. The resulting system design is the battery charger that consists of a string of step-down transformer 5A as lowering the voltage from 220V to 0 as 15V, diode 5A as a component of current and voltage rectifier, regulator IC LM338k as controlling the output voltage and TIP122 as a component of the circuit breaker. The output voltage of this tool 12.9 Volt and initial voltage of the battery is 10.2 Volt. Charging is done for 2.5 hours and at every 15 minutes do checks. The first 15 minutes the resulting voltage is 10.7 Volts. 30 minutes and 45 minutes of constant input voltage of 0.1 Volts, 60 minutes and 75 the result is the same 11.8 Volt, 90 to 120 minutes to hike constant voltage of 0.1 Volts, minutes to 135 to 150 rose 0.2 Volt and a constant 12,3 Volt.
