Abstract

Department of Civil Aviation with PT. Angkasa Pura I planned development on Internasioanal Airport passenger terminal and supporting facilities Ahmad Yani airport. But there are several obstacles to the development of the airport, namely: the limitations of land development, the problem of sea water (rob), location close to town that is hindering the growth of the city vertically. Solutions to these problems have to do relocation (relocation) to Kendal by considering the existing problems in the initial location and the existing problems in the city of Semarang. With the study of literature and collecting data and analyzing and concepts, with the relocation of the emerging new airport design that aims to raise the capacity to support the comfort and confidence of users of air transport services, and design a new airport with a contemporary approach to modern architecture. The concept used in the design of the new airport is honeycomb hexagonal pattern which is an arrangement that has unique characteristics and is a characteristic of a symbolic principle. It is expected to represent the contemporary modern architecture, giving the impression that the symbolic and elegant on the exterior and interior.
