Abstract

This research aim to compare and find out the differences about the company performances before and after Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) held by the companies, the hypothesis of this reseach is the appearence of the difference between a significant financial performance before and after the company adopted a program of ESOP. The company's performance using four variables proxi there are Net Profit Margin (NPM), Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), and Total Asset Turnover (TAT). This research examines the non financial companies going to public were listed on the Indonesia stock exchange in 2010-2014 so that data obtained by the financial reports that published in internet or from ICMD to know companies that adopt the ESOP. Purposive sampling is the method that used in this reaserch. This sampling that uses specific criteria, so retrieved 4 companies that adopt the ESOP in 2012 (as a critical point). This research use the Wilcoxon nonparametrik test method Signed-Rank Test is paired difference sample test that is two years before and after, one year before and after, as well as the average before and after holding an ESOP. The results of this research showed that there was no significant difference in performance between before and after the company’s was adopted the ESOP.
