Abstract
This study is intended to present a description the accuracy of the messages in the Indonesian translation of English conjunction in Absen Natal. This research belongs to a description qualitative research and to collect the data. The purposive sampling technique was applied and there are 112 data used in the novel Skipping Christmas and its translation Absen Natal. The data are analyzed by classifying the English conjunction into the Indonesian. The last one, the researcher analyzes the accuracy of its translation based on sentence context, the appropriateness of language and the appropriateness of meaning in target language and source language translation to answer the problem of research. The results of the research show that, the translator translates the English conjunction into six classifications and four sub-classifications into Indonesian conjunction and equivalent, namely (1) Conjunctions are translated into Indonesian conjunction (2) Conjunction are translated into variation of Indonesian conjunction (3) Conjunction that does not belong to Indone sian conjunction (4) Conjunctions are not translated. As stated before, the English conjunction can be translated into conjunctive adverb, preposition, time signal, demonstrative adverb, etc. In this research, the translator have 112 data or 100%) translation of conjunction and equivalency, appropriate translation are 68 data (or 60,7%) from total number of data and 44 data (or 39,3%) inappropriate translation, because it does not convey clear information.
