Abstract

In this study to improve knowledge of women of childbearing age about contraception methods of operation woman then made the provision of information to two groups : group lecture method and leaflets with a group of audiovisual method. To determine the effectiveness of audiovisual lectures and leaflets on contraception knowledge of contraceptive methods of operation woman. This study is the Quasi Experiment, with the design of the study is a two- group pretest and posttest design. sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Research instruments used questionnaire. The results of the testing calculation paired -samples t test on audiovisual group showed an average of 10.03 pre test and post test 12.43 . The results showed the results of paired -samples t test on audiovisual group obtained ( p - value = 0.001) , the decision is Ho refused. The results of the testing calculation paired -samples t test in group lectures and leaflets show the average pre-test of 10.03 and 12.43 posttest . The test results paired -samples t test was obtained ( p - value = 0.001). The average difference between pre-test post test knowledge audiovisual group was 3.74, while lectures and leaflets is 2.40. The test results obtained independent t test p - value = 0.012 ( p < 0.05 ) and concluded there is a difference between the effects of audiovisual media with media lectures and leaflets on knowledge about ontraception MOW . Audiovisual media more effective in improving nowledge about contraception MOW with the value of the difference is greater than using the medium of lectures and leaflets .
