Abstract

Background : Along with the dynamic of human life with mental disorders in the world is increasing. Data from January to April 2015 of all inpatient room at Mental Hospital of Surakarta showed that patients hallucinations about 43 - 77 % of patients with schizophrenia. Hallucinations are sensory perceptions change in the form of sound, sight, taste, touch or sense of smell who can not distinguish internal stimuli (thoughts) and external stimuli (the outside world) to the environment without any tangible object or stimulus. Controlling hallucinations can be done in four ways, namely, rebuke hallucinations, chatting with others, in a scheduled activity, and taking medication regularly. One effort in addition to doing an implementation strategy by implementing therapeutic communication. Communication is needed to be successful in healing patients. Communications aims to build a trusting relationship, improve interpersonal relationships, achieve personal goals that reality. Objective : To determine the frequency of hallucinatory vision decline after therapeutic communication in RJSD Surakarta with case study method for 3 x 24 hours. The method used includes the assessment, data analysis, formulation problems, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and evaluation. Results : After nursing action for 3 x 24 hours the patient is able to implement strategies for implementation of 1 to 4 patients with therapeutic communication every day. Conclusions : Efforts to reduce the frequency of visual hallucinations were made to Mr. J to perform therapeutic communication for three days, it showed that Mr. J can control the hallucinations.
