Abstract
This study is aimed at describing two things, namely the implementation of teaching vocabulary through story with pictures and the teaching result. In achieving the objectives, the researcher used an action research involving four procedures or phases namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research was held in MIN Sendanglo Boyolali. The researcher took 20 students of the sixth year as the subject of the study. There are five cycles in this research that each cycle was conducted in one meeting. The data are field note, interview script, and scores of the pre-test and post- test. They are taken from the event, informant, and document. After presenting and analyzing the data, the researcher described the result of the research as follows: (1) there were 17 students who increased their English vocabulary achievement; (2) there were 2 students who decreased their English vocabulary achievement and (3) there was 1 student who has static achievement. Overall, the researcher concludes that teaching English through story with pictures is appropriate and quite effective for the sixth year students of MIN Sendanglo Boyolali. They do not feel bored easily and more relaxed in the classroom.
