Abstract
The background of the problem in this study is the importance of character education for all generations to establish the values of the nation's character and complexity of the problem is still in the education curriculum implementation in 2013 Indonesia. 2013 competency-based curriculum, and this character is very good for improving education in Indonesia and also to shape the character of the nation into the generation of quality. The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of character education curriculum SMK N 9, 2013 in Surakarta in the academic year 2015/2016. In this study uses qualitative research using qualitative descriptive method and design of this study using ethnography. The subject of research is the principal, vice principal part of the curriculum, teacher of craft and entrepreneurship, and some students who take the craft and entrepreneurial learning in State 9 SMK Surakarta. Data were obtained from the results of observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data using a triangulation of sources and techniques. And analysis of data using an interactive model by means of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study found some of the following, namely in building good character, coming from a positive school environment, so that the school environment should be the center of attention from the teacher. In this case the school in cooperation with parents, cultivation of character in children will not succeed without the interference of parents / guardians of the students. Planting character through the habit of prayer in congregation in the mosque, pray before starting to learn, and so forth. Implementation of character education in curriculum 2013 on the subjects of craft and entrepreneurship at State 9 SMK Surakarta include character education planning on core competencies 1 (religious) and core competencies 2 (social attitudes). Curriculum 2013, which uses a scientific approach emphasizes students to learn independently, and teachers evaluate character education by observing directly KI 1 (religious) and KI 2 (social attitude) when the learning process. Conclusions based on the results of the research is the implementation of character education curriculum in 2013 at State 9 SMK Surakarta already well underway by applying a religious character which is expected to affect all of the characters that will produce graduates who are qualified and the school has always held a socialization related to the curriculum in 2013 to produce perfection curriculum and a greater understanding for all teachers.
