Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of PAI in improving the discipline of congregation prayer at the elementary school Muhammadiyah XVI Surakarta students. This study was descriptive qualitative ethnographic approach. The technique of collecting data were observation, interviews, and documentation. The Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis. The results showed that: 1) Effectiveness of PAI in improving the discipline of congregation prayer for the students of Elementary School Muhammadiyah XVI Surakarta because of the activities carried out effectively and it has become a regular program at Elementary School Muhammadiyah XVI Surakarta, the implementation of disciplinary action, and No involvement for all of the teachers in the coaching discipline in congregation prayers ; 2) There was an increase in student discipline prayers after PAI lesson. Before the lesson given discipline PAI score reached 55%, and after the lessons PAI increased to 91.7%. This means that there was an increase of 36.7%. This means that Islamic education was effective in improving discipline prayers. Understanding, habituation and monitoring applied PAI teacher has made students to be disciplined in worship prayers.
