Abstract

This study aims to: (1) To determine differences in learning outcomes IPA fifth grade students of SDN 1 Tlobong Delanggu Klaten using Word Square strategy using Group Investigation strategy. (2) To find a better strategy between Word Square strategy with Group investigation strategy for learning outcomes IPA fifth grade students of SDN 1 Tlobong Delanggu Klaten. This study included a quantitative study with an experimental model, subjects in the study are learners class V SDN 1 Tlobong Delanggu Klaten. The data collection technique using the techniques of tests, documentation and interview. Test instruments include test the validity and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using t-test technique which preceded the prerequisite test analysis, the test of normality and homogeneity test. Based on data analysis with significance level of 5% was obtained < there are 4,451 ˃ 2.00172 and the average grade values obtained between classes using Word Square strategy and classroom strategies that use Group Investigation strategy, namely 70,67 and 51, 67. The conclusion of this study were (1) There is a difference in learning outcomes IPA fifth grade students of SDN 1 Tlobong Delanggu Klaten using Word Square strategy using strategies Group Investigation year 2015/2016. (2) Word Square strategy better than Group Investigation strategy on learning outcomes IPA fifth grade students of SDN 1 Tlobong Delanggu Klaten in 2015/2016.
