To ensure that reading text can improve the students’ simple present tense mastery, the result in the post-test should show significant improvement from the result of pre-test. The results of the research show that: (1) In the first cycle the average result of pre-test is 3, 79 (poor), in the post-test1 the result increases to 5, 89 (low), (2) in the second cycle the result increases to 6, 58(fair), (3) in the third cycle the result increases to 7, 75(good).Considering the results of the research, there is improvement on the students’ mastery of simple present tense from the first, second, and the third cycles. It can be concluded that reading text is a good technique to improve students’ simple present tense mastery.
