Abstract
This study investigates “How is Sophie Fisher’s striving for superiority reflected in Music and Lyrics?” viewed from individual psychological approach. Therefore, the aims of this study are to analyze the structural elements of the movie and to analyze the movie based on individual psychological perspective. This study belongs to qualitative study. In this method, the writer uses two types of data sources, namely primary and secondary data sources. The primary data sources and the object of the study is the movie itself, meanwhile the secondary one is any literature related with this study for example reading some other resources related to the movie. The writer collects the data from both primary and secondary data source in sort of document as evidence. The technique of analyzing data is descriptive. Based on the analysis, the writer draws some conclusions as follows: first, Marc Lawrence’s Music and Lyrics tells about the major character as Sophie Fisher is strive for her superiority to overcome her inferiority feelings because her traumatic love. Second, every people has many ways to striving for superiority. In Music and Lyrics, the major character, Sophie Fisher does some efforts to strive her superiority that represents a case study of individual psychology. The last, that the major character’s personality changes after she has goal to strive for her superiority from bad to good.
