Abstract

This research paper focuses on the discussion of eminem’s hatred toward woman in the album “Marshal mathers LP”, that are analyed through sociological approach. The objectives of the research are to analyze the structural elements of the relationship between the lyrics and the social background of American society in early 21st century. This research belongs to qualitative research. The data of the research is the text o eminem’s song lyrics in Marshal Mathers LP album consisting 18 songs, they are Public Service Announcement 2000, Kill You, Stan, Paul, Who Knew, Steve Berman, The Way I Am, The Real Slim Shady, Remember me?, I’M Back, Ken Kaniff, Drug Ballad, Amitiville, Bitch Please II, Kim, Under the Influence, Criminal, whereas the data source comes from both primary data source which is in the form of the text of tghe lyrics being researched and secondary data sourches such as biography of the author, websites and other sources about the lyrics, the approach and the social background of American society that support the analysis. The method to analyze the data is descriptive analysis. Having analyzed the lyrics, the researcher comes to the conclusion as follows: Eminem’s lyrics in Marshal Mathers LP album contain Eminem’s hatred toward woman. These lyrics imply that the readers should appreciate the norm, lifestyle, behavior, drug, divorce, freesex reflected in Eminem’s hatred toward woman. Key Words: Hatred, Woman, Sociological Approach
