Abstract
This research aims at findings and describing some constraints in the English teaching-learning process in SDN GUWOREJO 4 Sragen. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The writer takes the English teacher and students of fifth year as the subject of the study. To collect the data, the writer observers the English class, document and interviews the English teacher and students of the fifth year of SDN GUWOREJO 4 Sragen. Based on the analysis, the researcher comes to conclutions namely the constraints felt by the students, teacher, and constraints concerning time and space. Constaints felt by the students relates to: (1) the teacher’s position, (2) lack of varietes, (3) the availability of English textbook, (4) learner socioeconomiuc condition, (5) vocabulary, structure, and pronunciatioan. Constraints felt by the teacher relates to : (1) low motivated students, (2) uncooperative students, (3) naughty students, (4) noisy students, (5) media and teaching strategy. Constraints concerning time and space relates to inconducive classroom and time limitation. From this research paper , it is suggested that the students must be active during the teaching-learning process by asking their difficulties in mastering the materials and doing more exercises in line with the topic given. The teacher should use other techniques that make the students interested in teaching-learning process and the teacher can use some media to complete and make teaching-learning process easily.
