Abstract

Central Java province has fairly developed tourism potentials. However, tourism objects in some regions of the province needs to pay more attention for better development such as Ngrancah Spring in Kaliwungu sub-district that is a potential tourism object. Related to this, purposes of the research are to: (1) know potency of Ngrancah Spring if Kaliwungu sub-district as a tourism object; (2) know direction of development of Ngrancah Springs as a tourism object in order to attarct more tourists. The research uses secondary data analysis obtained from relevant institutions and survey method with field observations. Data that will be analyzed ancludes potency of the tourism object by using observation and identification. Magnitude of the object’s potency can be know from assessment standarts of the tourism attraction potency by scoring relevant parameters, and then, total score is classified by using method of interval class of law, moderete and high. Second analysis of the data uses SWOT related to internal and external factors. Result of the research shewod that (1) Ngrancah Spring was categorized as moderate class of potency. It means that not all characteristics and potencies of the tourism object are a driving factor in development of the object, but there are factor inhibiting the development. Improvement and development are needed for the inhibiting factors in order to attract more tourists visiting the water tourism object. (2) Based on analysis of tourism object development, the direction of Ngrancah Spring development includes aspects of attraction, infrastructure and facility, accessibility, main product, and marketing/promition.
